The Roush 331SRXDSC pairs a 5.4L (331 cubic-inch) short block with a factory-installed supercharger, putting forced induction on the engine before it ever leaves the crate. The block is high-performance cast iron, the heads are aluminum, and the rotating assembly is internally balanced for smooth high-RPM running.
What ships installed
Besides the supercharger itself, this Roush Racing-family engine carries a one-piece rear main seal and a high-performance hydraulic roller camshaft, with the oil pan, valve covers, and timing cover already fitted and a harmonic balancer in place. A carburetor, throttle body, and distributor are not part of the package, and neither is a computer or wiring harness, so a standalone ECU and custom tuning finish the job.
Before you order
Because the induction, ignition, and tuning are left to the installer, this suits an experienced builder more than a bolt-and-go swap. Premium or race fuel is called for given the supercharged compression, and professional installation plus proper ECU tuning are recommended to put the power down safely rather than guessed at. Budget time for dialing in the standalone engine management before you expect the car to run right.
