The Roush 347 R (BD347RPC) is a fully assembled small-block Ford crate engine: a 347 cubic-inch short block with forged pistons, crankshaft and rods, aluminum cylinder heads, and a hydraulic roller camshaft. It suits a builder who already has carburetion or EFI, ignition, and exhaust sorted out, rather than someone wanting a complete, start-it-today combination.
What arrives installed
Spark plugs, a harmonic balancer, oil pan, timing cover, and valve covers are all fitted before the engine ships. Everything that bolts around that long block — carburetor or throttle body, distributor, exhaust manifolds, air cleaner, spark plug wires, computer, and wiring harness — stays on your shopping list, along with a flexplate or flywheel to mate it to your transmission.
Before you order
Treat this as a short-block-and-heads combination and match your fuel system, ignition, and drivetrain to it before ordering, rather than assuming a drop-in fit. Roush calls for premium fuel of 91 octane or higher given the compression and camshaft used here, and because the engine carries no emissions certification, plan on off-road or racing use rather than a street car registered in an emissions-regulated area.

Startup & Installation Checklist
