Roush's BD347IRC, the 347IR, pairs a high-performance cast iron block with aluminum cylinder heads at 347 cubic inches (5.7L), internally balanced and running a hydraulic roller camshaft, new from the factory for street and occasional track use.

What's assembled

An induction system comes mounted on the long block, with the oil pan, the timing cover, the harmonic balancer, and the valve covers also fitted on a one-piece rear main seal. There is no carburetor, throttle body, distributor, water pump, flexplate, flywheel, air cleaner, computer, or wiring harness included, so the fuel, ignition, cooling, and drivetrain hardware all need to be added separately.

Who it's built for

This small-block suits classic muscle cars, street machines, and pro-touring builds looking for a lightweight, high-revving 347 rather than a heavier big-block option. Roush recommends premium or race fuel for this combination, and because so much of the supporting hardware is left out, builders who already have a fuel system, ignition, and cooling plan in place will have the easiest time bringing this long block to a complete, running engine.
