Details & Inspection Notes

DL427SRXDSEC takes the same 427-cubic-inch (7.0L) Windsor-based small-block found elsewhere in Roush's 427 lineup and swaps the carburetor for electronic fuel injection, arriving with its own computer and wiring harness so it lands closer to plug-and-play than the carbureted options.

What's installed

Distributor, air cleaner, and the EFI throttle body are mounted, computer and wiring harness included, while the timing cover, the water pump, the harmonic balancer, the valve covers, and the oil pan finish the long block. A carburetor is not part of this build, and there is no flywheel or flexplate, so transmission-side hardware still needs to be sourced.

Street-friendly power

With fuel injection instead of a carburetor, this small-block is aimed at street warriors and pro-touring builds that want modern drivability alongside classic Windsor displacement, fitting the same classic Mustang and Cobra replica platforms as the rest of this Roush 427 line. Roush recommends premium fuel, and the transmission, cooling beyond the water pump, and exhaust components still need to be added.

Common questions

Is this carbureted or fuel injected? Fuel injected, with the computer and wiring harness included for the EFI system.

Does it come with a transmission? No, only the engine and the EFI hardware listed above are included.

Can it replace a carbureted 427 later without major changes? Mounting and the long block stay the same across this Roush 427 lineup, but swapping ignition styles still means re-wiring the ignition and fuel-delivery side.
