Roush 427 SR Crate Engines DL427SRDSC

DL427SRDSC is Roush's new 427-cubic-inch (7.0L) Windsor-based small-block on a cast iron block with aluminum heads, and unlike some other Roush 427 options, it arrives with its carburetor, distributor, and air cleaner already mounted for a more complete out-of-the-box carbureted setup.

What comes installed

Spark plugs and spark plug wires are fitted alongside the carbureted intake manifold, distributor, and carburetor, and the harmonic balancer, the water pump, the oil pan, the timing cover, and the valve covers round out the long block. There is no flywheel or flexplate included, so the transmission-side hardware is left for the builder, and the camshaft is a hydraulic roller with a one-piece rear main seal.

Who should choose this version

Because the distributor and air cleaner are already mounted, this engine suits builders who want fewer ignition and induction parts to track down separately for a classic Mustang, Cobra replica, or other vintage Ford build. Roush recommends premium fuel for this combination, and the exhaust, cooling beyond the water pump, and drivetrain hardware still need to be added before installation.
