Details & Inspection Notes
Roush's BD347SRC is a new 5.7-liter, 347-cubic-inch small-block Windsor, cast-iron block paired with aluminum heads, sold with a carburetor already mounted on its carbureted intake manifold and aimed at straightforward street and track installs.
What ships assembled
A flywheel for manual-transmission builds comes with it, along with spark plugs and spark plug wires, plus the oil pan, timing cover, valve covers, water pump, and harmonic balancer. There is no throttle body or distributor in the package, since the carbureted induction and ignition are handled separately, and no flexplate or air cleaner is included either.
Who it's built for
This small-block suits classic Mustangs, Cobra replicas, hot rods, and pro-touring builds running a standard Ford Windsor mount and transmission layout. It uses a hydraulic roller camshaft and a one-piece rear main seal for smooth high-RPM operation, and Roush recommends premium fuel for this combination. Because the exhaust and cooling components beyond the water pump aren't included, plan those separately before ordering, and budget time for dialing in the carburetor once the engine is running.
Common questions
Does it include a carburetor? Yes, this engine comes with its carburetor and carbureted intake manifold already fitted.
Does the included flywheel suit a manual or an automatic build? It's sized for manual-transmission use; there is no flexplate included for an automatic swap.
