Details & Inspection Notes

Powermaster's 19516 XS Torque is a mini gear-reduction starter finished in chrome, rated up to 18:1 compression and geared down 4.4 to 1, positioned as the lightest starter in Powermaster's torque lineup at 200 ft-lbs of cranking torque and up to 1.8 horsepower.

Mounting and clearance

The starter uses Powermaster's InfiCLOCK billet aluminum mounting block, which allows a full 360-degree rotation of the mount so the solenoid and body can be clocked into whatever position clears your headers, oil pan or chassis, rather than being fixed to one orientation. Even without that adjustment, most header and oil pan setups already clear the housing in its default position.

Heat handling

The solenoid is encapsulated, which Powermaster builds in specifically to avoid heat-soak and hot-start problems, a common failure point for starters mounted close to headers on a performance engine. Each unit is dyno tested before it ships.

Who it suits

This starter fits a build where weight and mounting flexibility matter most: a light, chrome-finished mini starter for a Jeep engine bay where header or chassis clearance is tight, rather than the heaviest-duty cranking torque Powermaster offers.

Startup & Installation Checklist

  • Inspect all external gaskets, seals, spark plugs and timing components prior to installation.
  • Refill engine oil, transmission gear oil and coolant to manufacturer-specified capacities before initial cranking.
  • Prime the lubrication system and verify ECU wiring pinouts, sensors, and ground connections.
  • Our 2-year warranty covers internal lubricated components, cylinder heads and engine block from delivery, in addition to your statutory rights.
