Patriot Exhaust H8600-B Clippster Direct Replace Header

Patriot Exhaust's H8600-B is the Hi-Temp Black-coated version of the mid-length "Clippster" header, running 1 5/8 inch primary tubes with dog-leg ports, built across the same AMC AMX, Javelin, Rebel and Ambassador V8 range and the same Jeep CJ and full-size applications as the rest of the H8600 line.

Mid-length design

Trading some of a full-length header's reach for better ground clearance is the whole point of the clippster shape, which suits a lowered muscle car or street rod stance. The tubing is 16 and 18 gauge, and the package in the box covers the gaskets, bolts and collector reducers this header needs to go on.

Platform-specific install notes

Patriot's fitment split for this part number runs from 68-70 AMC cars, which need their factory downpipes modified, through 71-74 AMC cars that take it as a bolt-on with no cutting required, and it reaches further into Jeep territory too, covering CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 and full-size Wagoneer, J10 and J20 trucks across two separate year brackets. Confirm your exact year and chassis against that split before ordering, since the install effort is not the same across the range even on this one header.
