Patriot Exhaust H8600-1 Clippster Direct Replace Header

Patriot Exhaust's H8600-1 is a mid-length "Clippster" header with 1 5/8 inch primary tubes and a dog-leg port design, sized as a direct-replacement header rather than a universal-fit part, for AMC's AMX, Javelin, Rebel and Ambassador V8s and for Jeep CJ and full-size models.

Why mid-length

Patriot builds this clippster-style header specifically for improved ground clearance over a full-length design, which matters on muscle cars and street rods running a lower stance. Tubing runs 16 and 18 gauge, and this one ships with its own gaskets plus the bolts and collector reducers needed to hang it, so the fasteners for the swap come in the same box.

Installation by platform

On the 68-70 AMC cars this header covers, Patriot notes it requires modifying the stock downpipes.
