Details & Inspection Notes
Patriot Exhaust's H8500-1 Tight Tuck header is a 1 5/8 inch primary-tube design built for a universal Buick Nailhead street rod swap, finished in Patriot's metallic ceramic coating.
Why "Tight Tuck"
This header line is built specifically to solve the clearance problems that come with dropping an engine into a chassis it was never designed for; Patriot shapes the tubes to fit tight engine bays and clear most stock motor mounts, which is the common sticking point in a Nailhead street rod swap.
Construction and what's included
Patriot builds this header out of 16-gauge tubing, and the box it ships in holds the header along with its gaskets, mounting bolts and the reducers that adapt the collector to your exhaust, so the hardware needed for the swap doesn't need a separate trip to the parts store. This particular header is finished in Patriot's metallic ceramic coating, one of three finish options Patriot offers across this header line, the others being raw steel for custom coating and a Hi-Temp Black coating.
Who it suits
Because this is a universal application rather than a direct-fit header for a specific chassis, confirm your engine bay clearance and motor mount style against a Nailhead swap before ordering. It suits a street rod builder swapping a Buick Nailhead into a chassis where a factory-length header will not clear the surrounding sheet metal or mounts.
