Details & Inspection Notes
Offenhauser's 5416 is a single-plane intake manifold built for Chevrolet inline six-cylinder engines made from 1962 onward, covering four displacements in that family — 194, 230, 250 and 292 — and machined to bolt up a single four-barrel carburetor of the stock style.
Carburetor fitment
The carburetor mounting pad is drilled to the small Quad Adaptation A bolt pattern, 3-7/8 inches one way and 3-3/4 the other, a size that matches a stock-sized four-barrel. A bigger carburetor, in the AFB or Holley bolt pattern, needs Offenhauser's adapter flange instead, part 4006/5170, offered in a 4006/5170-90 version for mounting the carburetor rotated 90 degrees.
Ports, finish and fitment
For vacuum and sensor fittings, the manifold carries two NPT openings, one at 1/4 inch and another at 3/8 inch, and it weighs 5.9 pounds in its aluminum, natural finish. Linkage is included with the kit. This manifold does not fit 1975-and-later Chevrolet inline sixes where the intake manifold is cast as an integral part of the cylinder head, so confirm your engine year and casting style before ordering.
Who it suits
This fits a Chevy inline-six owner running a pre-1975-style separate manifold and head who wants to add a single four-barrel carburetor in place of the factory one- or two-barrel setup, with an adapter available if a larger carburetor pattern is needed.
