Details & Inspection Notes
This CXXL Verado 350 steps up the shaft length over the CXL version in this line, running a 30-inch shaft, while keeping counter rotation available. It is finished in Mercury's white cowl options.
Shaft length and rotation
A longer shaft suits taller transoms than the shorter CXL option; get this measurement wrong and the engine either rides too high or too deep for correct performance. Counter rotation being available on this configuration makes it suitable for a twin, opposite-rotation installation if a second matching engine is planned later.
Standard Verado 350 features
At 668 pounds, this is a 2.6-liter inline-six four-stroke, heavier than the V-8 engines below it. Shifting and throttle on this engine are electronically managed, the helm gets hydraulic steering assist, vibration is isolated by the mounts, and the starter guards against overload. This engine, wide open, spins 5800 to 6400 RPM. The cowl is available in pearl fusion white, warm fusion, or cold fusion. Mounting hardware, a tool kit, along with the owner's manual ride along with the engine. The propeller is sold on its own, separate from this engine.
Is this a two-engine setup only? No, it works as a single engine too; counter rotation simply makes it compatible with an opposite-spinning twin.
How long is the warranty? Three years, through Mercury Marine.
Is the 30-inch shaft the right length for most boats? It suits taller transoms specifically; measure yours before assuming either shaft length is correct.
