Details & Inspection Notes

The CXXL version of the Verado 300 runs a 30-inch shaft and keeps counter rotation available for twin, opposite-rotation installs. Horsepower on this unit is rated at 300.

Why the longer shaft option exists

A 30-inch shaft suits taller transoms than the shorter options in this lineup; running too short a shaft on a tall-transom boat leaves the gearcase riding higher than it should. 600 pounds on the scale, 4.6 liters under the cowl, V-8 four-stroke architecture throughout. Electronically controlled shifting on this unit delivers quick, precise gear changes, the steering gets hydraulic assist, engine mounts isolate vibration from the hull, and overload protection is built into the starter.

Rigging and what's included

Measure your transom before ordering a 30-inch shaft; this is not a configuration to guess on. Counter rotation is offered here, so this is a reasonable choice if a second, opposite-rotating engine is planned for a twin installation down the line. Wide-open-throttle RPM falls between 5200 and 6000 on this engine. The package includes mounting hardware, the owner's manual, plus a tool kit. Plan on buying a propeller separately for this one.

Does this come in a white finish? Not on this particular unit; it is the standard cowl color.

Is counter rotation built in or optional? It is available as part of this specific configuration.
