Details & Inspection Notes

This is the plain XXL-shaft Verado 250: the longest 250-horsepower shaft option at 35 inches, without counter rotation and without the white cowl offered on some other versions of this engine.

Why go XX-long

A 35-inch shaft suits unusually tall transoms; running a shorter shaft on a boat built for 35 inches puts the propeller too high in the water and hurts both bite and cooling. Counter rotation is not offered here, so pair it only with a same-spinning match if running two engines.

What carries over

Every engine in this horsepower class shares the same 4.6-liter V-8 four-stroke block at 600 pounds. Gear selection and throttle response on this engine are electronically managed, the steering wheel gets hydraulic assistance, vibration is isolated at the mounts, and the starter carries overload safeguards. Top-end RPM at full throttle reaches 5200 to 6000. Standard here are the owner's manual, a tool kit, along with mounting hardware.

Is counter rotation available on this engine? No; for an opposite-rotating twin pair, look at the CXXL version of this same shaft length.

Is a white cowl finish available on this configuration? No, this unit is the standard cowl color only.

What should I check before buying a 35-inch shaft? Confirm the measurement from the top of your transom to the keel, since getting shaft length wrong affects both handling and cooling.
