Details & Inspection Notes

Finished in one of Mercury's white cowl options, this CXL-spec Verado 250 runs a 25-inch shaft with counter rotation available for two-engine installs. Aside from color, it suits the same boats as any other CXL: ones already rigged for a V-8-class outboard on a taller transom.

Why buyers pick white

The cowl is offered in warm fusion, cold fusion, or pearl fusion white, letting the engine match a lighter hull instead of the usual darker finish. Mechanically it is the familiar 600-pound V-8 four-stroke found across this family, 4.6 liters of displacement. Nothing mechanical changes for the color choice.

Before you order

Verify the 25-inch shaft suits your transom height, and decide now whether counter rotation matters to your rigging plans, since this particular configuration supports it for a future two-engine, opposite-rotation build. Shifting here is electronic for quick, smooth changes, the helm gets a hydraulic steering boost, vibration is damped before it reaches the hull, and the starter guards against overload. At full throttle, this engine spins 5200 to 6000 RPM. In the box: the owner's manual, mounting hardware, plus a tool kit. The propeller is not included.

Will the cowl color match my hull exactly? It ships in one of the three listed white finishes; confirm the exact shade before ordering, since lighting and screens can shift how a color reads.

Is a propeller included? No, plan to source one separately based on your boat and gear ratio.
