Details & Inspection Notes
This new 90HP ELPT FourStroke Outboard adds Mercury's Command Thrust gearcase onto the familiar 90 hp platform, still riding a 20 inch long shaft with electric start.
Why Command Thrust
This gearcase suits owners running a loaded or heavier boat who want more push at low speed, without changing the top-end numbers much; remote mechanical steering and the 20 inch shaft carry over unchanged from the standard ELPT.
Specs
At 363 lbs dry, it runs 2.1 liters of EFI-fed displacement, spins to a full throttle window of 5000 to 6000 rpm, and carries power trim and tilt. A propeller is not included.
Who it suits
Boats that regularly carry heavier loads, tow, or sit low at idle are where this upgrade earns its keep, since the Command Thrust gearcase is built around pushing extra weight at low speed rather than chasing top-end numbers.
What's in the box
Mounting hardware, a tool kit, and the owner's manual ship with it, under Mercury Marine's 3-year warranty.
Common questions
What does Command Thrust add here? A heavier-duty gearcase meant for pushing a loaded boat at low speed.
Is a propeller part of the package? No, budget for one separately.
Does the shaft length change with this gearcase? No, it stays at 20 inches, the same as the standard ELPT.
Does oil capacity or throttle range change with Command Thrust? No, full throttle still falls between 5000 and 6000 rpm on this 2.1 liter EFI engine.
