Details & Inspection Notes
Mercury built the ProKicker series to run alongside a main engine, for trolling speed control, backup power, or peace of mind, and this 9.9ELHPT Command Thrust ProKicker is the tiller-steered, electric-start, power-tilt version, weighing 111 lb with a 20-inch shaft.
What makes it a ProKicker
Mercury fits the ProKicker gearcase with gear shafts larger than those on its standard outboards, matched here to a Command Thrust four-blade high-thrust aluminum propeller, aimed at holding a heavier boat on plane at low speed rather than chasing top speed across the water.
Quick to raise and lower
Power tilt on this ProKicker is built to drop the motor into the water quickly, which matters when you're switching between a main engine and this one partway through a day of fishing or towing a tender.
Where it fits
The tiller handle and 20-inch shaft suit aluminum tiller skiffs, soft-hull inflatables, utility boats, and sailboats running this as auxiliary or trolling power rather than a primary engine doing all the work.
What's in the box
Mercury includes the Command Thrust four-blade high-thrust aluminum propeller, an owner's manual, a tool kit, and its 3-year warranty with every new unit sold.
Common questions
