Details & Inspection Notes
This is the EFI version of the ELHPT ProKicker: a larger 333 cc engine in place of the smaller block used on the carbureted ProKickers, with electronic fuel injection and a dry weight of 122 lb, sold here as a used unit rather than new from the factory.
Why it weighs more and spins faster
The bigger displacement and EFI hardware add weight and let the engine reach a higher rpm band than the carbureted 9.9 ProKickers in this lineup, with the gearcase ratio adjusted to 2.15:1 to match, on a 20-inch shaft and tiller steering carried over from the rest of the ELHPT family of motors.
More monitoring built in
This engine watches for a wider range of fault conditions than the carbureted ProKickers, including fluid pressure and overheating, which tracks with the extra sensors that come along with EFI electronics on a fuel-injected block like this one.
Power tilt with six positions
Trim is power-operated across six discrete settings rather than a simple ratcheting lever, and the charging system steps up accordingly to keep pace with the EFI system's electrical draw during operation out on the water.
Common questions
What oil does it need? Either a 25W-40 synthetic blend or Mercury FC-W 10W-30 marine oil works.
Is this carbureted or EFI? Electronic fuel injection.
What shaft length does it carry? 20 inches, the mid-length option.
