Details & Inspection Notes

This used 9.9ELH FourStroke runs tiller steering, a 20-inch shaft, and electric start, matching the specs of a Command Thrust variant sold elsewhere in the catalog, except this unit's listing carries no Command Thrust name on the gearcase.

A tiller-steered, mid-length-shaft motor

One grip on the tiller covers steering, throttle, and shift, useful for boats without a separate steering console mounted at the helm. At 20 inches, the shaft is built for an ordinary transom, not one mounted unusually high or low.

What's inside

The engine runs a 2.08:1 gearcase and sits at 84 lb dry weight, with tilt worked by a hand-ratcheted lever instead of an electric motor doing the lifting.

Condition

Being used, hours and wear will vary by unit, so ask the seller before buying rather than assuming it performs exactly like a new motor would right out of the box. It is finished in Phantom Black and calls for 87 octane gas, up to 10 percent ethanol, with Mercury FourStroke 10W-30 for oil changes. Check the water pump impeller and lower unit seals before putting it to work for a season.

Common questions

Does it have Command Thrust branding? No, this listing does not carry that name.

Is it tiller or remote steered? Tiller.

Is the tilt manual or powered? Manual, worked through a ratcheting lever by hand.
