Details & Inspection Notes
ELPT on this new 60HP FourStroke means console-and-cable steering rather than a tiller arm, on the same long-shaft, electric-start block Mercury uses across this family, minus the Command Thrust gearcase some other 60HP listings carry. Treat this as the standard-gearcase, remote-steered edition.
Specs on this unit
This engine's full-throttle band runs 5500 to 6000 rpm. Displacement is rated at 60.8, fed by electronic fuel injection instead of a carburetor. Weight dry is 247 lbs. Trim and tilt are powered, adjusted from a console switch rather than from the tiller handle this model does not use.
Buying notes
Because this is a remote-control motor, your boat needs the cable and control-box run already in place, or you will need to add one; it will not bolt onto a tiller setup. The 20-inch shaft length has to match your transom, and since no propeller ships with it, plan to select one for a standard gearcase rather than for Command Thrust. The motor carries a 3-year Mercury warranty, and included with the motor are mounting hardware, a tool kit, quick-connect fuel line, and the printed manual.
Can this be upgraded to Command Thrust later? Not as a simple swap; Command Thrust is a different gearcase housing, not an add-on part for a standard-gearcase motor.
What boat setup does the remote-steering version need? A console with throttle and shift cables already run to the transom, since there is no tiller handle here. Mercury outboards
