Details & Inspection Notes
This used Mercury 60EXLPT SeaPro outboard combines the longer 25-inch shaft with remote steering and the Command Thrust gearcase. Like other SeaPro engines, it is calibrated for low-rpm torque rather than high-rpm speed, a trade Mercury makes across its commercial line to ease the strain of steady work-boat duty.
Engine specs
The 8-valve inline-4 in this SeaPro engine lists a 60.8/995 CID/CC displacement, with the gearcase ratio at 2.33:1. Top end comes in at 4500 to 5500 rpm, and the scale reads 260 lbs dry, with an 18-amp, 226-watt alternator on board.
Trim and running
Trim here is powered, but Mercury's own paperwork for this unit does not call out a separate tilt function the way some other SeaPro variants do, so confirm tilt operation with us if that matters for your boat. Electric start uses a turn-key switch here too, with mechanical throttle and shift hardware sold on its own. Fuel needs to be at least 87-octane unleaded, stepping up to 90 RON once ethanol content hits 10 percent. Pre-owned SeaPro motors vary in hours; contact us for what we can tell you about this one before buying.
How does the 25-inch shaft change handling versus the shorter SeaPro? Only by matching a taller transom; the engine, gearcase, and torque calibration are otherwise the same.
Why the longer shaft on this SeaPro? It suits boats with a taller transom than the standard-shaft SeaPro fits. Mercury outboards
