Details & Inspection Notes
This used Mercury 60EXLHPT SeaPro outboard stretches to a 25-inch shaft for taller transoms, pairing Big Tiller control with the Command Thrust gearcase Mercury uses across this SeaPro line. SeaPro's commercial calibration favors low-rpm torque over outright top speed, so a work boat climbs onto plane without running the engine hard.
Engine specs
Displacement for this inline-4, 8-valve SeaPro engine is 60.8/995 CID/CC. Mercury rates full throttle at 4500 to 5500 rpm, with dry weight at 260 lbs. Gearcase ratio is 2.33:1, and the alternator puts out 18 amps, 226 watts. Maximum trim range is 22 degrees and maximum tilt range 70 degrees.
Fit and running
Confirm your transom suits the 25-inch x-long shaft before ordering; this is the taller-transom version of the 60ELHPT SeaPro rather than its standard-shaft sibling. This engine starts electrically with a turn-key switch, and throttle and shift controls are sold separately as mechanical pieces; Mercury wants unleaded fuel rated 87 octane or higher, moving up to a 90 RON blend once ethanol content reaches 10 percent. As with any pre-owned SeaPro, hours depend on how hard the previous owner worked it; ask us first.
Why choose this over the shorter-shaft SeaPro? Only if your transom needs the extra length; otherwise the shorter shaft is the right match.
Does the 25-inch shaft change the torque calibration? No, shaft length only affects fit; SeaPro's torque curve is the same across shaft lengths. Mercury outboards
