Details & Inspection Notes

This used Mercury 60ELHPT SeaPro outboard is built for commercial duty. Mercury calibrates SeaPro motors to deliver stronger torque at lower rpm than a recreational FourStroke, which helps a work boat climb onto plane sooner and hold a slower cruise without straining. Big Tiller steering and the Command Thrust gearcase are standard on this rigging.

Engine specs

This SeaPro's inline-4, 8-valve, single-overhead-cam engine carries a 60.8/995 CID/CC displacement. Full throttle runs 4500 to 5500 rpm, dry weight is 260 lbs, and the gearcase ratio is 2.33:1. Maximum trim range spans 22 degrees and maximum tilt range 70 degrees, with an 18-amp, 226-watt alternator.

Built for repeated duty

Starting is electric turn-key, controls are mechanical throttle and shift sold separately, and electronic fuel injection feeds the engine. Mercury specifies unleaded 87-octane minimum or up to 90 RON with 10 percent ethanol, and its own FCW 25W-40 oil. Commercial SeaPro units see real work hours; ask what we know about this one's duty cycle before you commit.

What does SeaPro change versus a standard 60hp FourStroke? Mainly the torque curve and duty-cycle calibration, aimed at steady commercial running rather than peak recreational performance.

What does the wider trim and tilt range buy a commercial operator? More range to set running angle for a loaded work boat across different speeds and water depths. Mercury outboards
