Details & Inspection Notes
The Mercury 300HP CXL FourStroke Outboard DTS is a new V8 on a 25 inch X-long shaft, rigged for digital throttle and shift control, with counter rotation available for paired-engine installs.
Controls
DTS replaces cable-operated throttle and shift with an electronic system, which can give smoother, more precise shifting than a mechanical remote, but it needs a compatible DTS helm to operate. Boats already wired for DTS on another Mercury outboard are the easiest fit; anyone switching from a cable-operated remote should budget for new helm hardware, not just the engine.
Specifications
Electric start and electronic fuel injection head this 300 horsepower V8, which comes in at 527 lbs dry. Power trim and tilt is fitted as standard, adjusting running angle from a switch rather than by hand, which matters on an engine this heavy. The 25 inch X-long shaft suits a deeper transom than shorter options Mercury offers in this range.
Included and warranty
Mercury rounds out the package with a tool kit, mounting hardware, and the owner's manual, all protected under a 3-year factory warranty. Counter rotation suits the second engine in a twin-outboard setup, letting props on each side turn opposite ways to cancel steering torque. The propeller itself ships separately and should be matched to your boat and typical load before you head out.
Does this come with a propeller? No, order one separately. Can I run a tiller on this? No, it is rigged for DTS control, not a tiller handle.
