Mercury 300 HP Outboard Motor | Verado 30 Inch

This is a 2019 Mercury Verado 300 HP outboard with a cambered skeg and a 30 inch shaft, sold as a demo unit with 18 hours on it rather than as a new, zero-hour engine.

Condition

Because this is demo stock, expect cosmetic wear: scuffs and scratches from its time in a controlled testing environment, though mechanically it carries only 18 hours. It ships with a 30-day warranty starting the day it ships, meant to cover early mechanical issues rather than stand in for a full factory warranty on a new motor.

Powerhead

The V8 block measures 4.6 liters, turning 5200 to 6000 rpm at full throttle through a 1.85:1 gearcase, with bore and stroke figures of 3.6 and 3.4 inches respectively. Mercury's Advanced MidSection and under-cowl noise management are built into the Verado line for smoother, quieter running, and this unit is finished in Warm Fusion White with standard rotation.

Rigging and specs

Trim moves across a 20 degree band (-6 to 14) at maximum, and tilt swings through 73 degrees (-6 to 67). Controls are digital throttle and shift, and steering is electro-hydraulic with joystick piloting capability, but neither the controls nor the steering hardware ships with this engine, so budget for that rigging separately. The propeller is also not included. This engine is fine on 87 octane unleaded regular at minimum, or 90 RON with up to 10 percent ethanol blended in.
