The Mercury 25HP ELPT FourStroke swaps the tiller for remote mechanical steering while keeping a 20 inch shaft, electric start, and power trim and tilt, suited to boats already rigged with a console and remote controls.

Rigging notes

Because steering and shift run through remote cables rather than a tiller handle, confirm your existing cable lengths and control box before ordering this as a replacement engine. Power trim and tilt still lets you change running angle and raise the motor from a switch, useful when a remote-steered boat needs to clear shallow water in a hurry.

Powerhead

Under the cowling, three cylinders and 32.1 cubic inches of displacement feed electronic fuel injection, good for 5000-6000 rpm, with the engine weighing 157 lbs dry.
