Details & Inspection Notes
This used Mercury 25ELHPT FourStroke pairs electric start with tiller steering and power trim on a 20 inch shaft, built around a three-cylinder four-stroke that Mercury lists at 32.1 cubic inches and 526cc.
Fit and controls
Check your transom height against the 20 inch shaft before ordering, since the wrong length changes how the propeller sits in the water. Steering stays at the tiller, so there is no remote cable or binnacle to route, and power trim adjusts running angle from a switch at the handle instead of a manual lever. The gearcase turns a 1.92:1 ratio and shifts forward, neutral, and reverse through a standard case.
Running details
Full throttle runs 5000 to 6000 rpm on electronic fuel injection, with CDI ignition and electronic spark advance, and cooling is water-cooled with a thermostat. A 15 amp alternator keeps the battery charged while under way, bore and stroke measure 2.40 by 2.36 inches, and Mercury rates the fuel induction at a CARB star rating of 3. A 6.6 gallon portable tank is standard, shallow water trim range runs to 16 degrees, and dry weight comes in at 157 lbs. Mercury calls for 90 RON unleaded fuel at minimum with its own FourStroke 10W-30 oil, and the motor is finished in Phantom Black. The propeller is not included.
Condition and coverage
Being used, expect wear consistent with its service history rather than new-in-box cosmetics. Total coverage runs 5 years: Mercury's standard 3-year factory warranty, plus two more years under the Product Protection Gold program.
Does it include a propeller? No, order one separately to match your boat. Can this run remote controls? No, steering and shift stay at the tiller handle.
