Details & Inspection Notes
This white-finished Mercury 250HP CXL uses remote mechanical steering rather than digital shift, the cable-and-cam helm setup familiar to many existing rigs. It comes in cold fusion white, pearl fusion white, or warm fusion white.
Steering style comes first
Because this is the remote mechanical version and not DTS, it suits boats already wired for conventional throttle-and-shift cables; a boat built for Mercury's digital controls should look at the DTS version instead. The 25-inch shaft matches the CXL's X-long spec, and counter rotation is available for a twin-engine pairing.
Specification and inclusions
The crate holds mounting hardware, the owner's manual, and a tool kit. Propellers are bought apart from the motor and matched to your hull. Displacement figures at 4.6. This V-8 weighs 527 lbs. Top RPM at full throttle is 5200 to 6000.
Q: Will the finish affect the warranty? No, the standard coverage applies regardless of which white finish is picked.
EFI fuel delivery and power trim and tilt ship standard. It is covered by Mercury Marine for 3 years. Mercury outboards in white finishes are a popular match for lighter-hulled boats, though the choice here is purely cosmetic. Rigging details like cable routing and helm wiring are worth checking before the motor arrives. A quick walk-through of your current setup saves time later. Boat dealers often keep rigging templates on file for common hull models, which can simplify matching shaft length. A quick call to a rigger can head off a fitment surprise well before delivery day.
