Details & Inspection Notes
This used 20M FourStroke swaps in a pull-start for the electric starters fitted to most of its siblings; it still carries the same 15 inch shaft, remote steering sold separately, and manual trim.
Starting by hand
A manual starter means no battery is required to get this motor running, which suits smaller boats or backup and kicker use where electric starting is not needed.
Running it
This engine monitors itself for low oil pressure, over-revving, overheating, and sensor failure. Octane should sit at 87 or above, ethanol no higher than 10 percent, with Mercury's 25W-40 synthetic blend oil and the usual 3.2 gallon tank fitted.
This is a used motor as well, so ask us for logged hours and service paperwork before ordering, independent of whether starting is manual or electric. A propeller is included, already matched and ready to mount on this unit.
A pull-start motor avoids any dependence on a battery, which simplifies wiring on a small boat but means starting always takes a manual pull rather than a key or button. That trade-off suits a simple, lightweight rig better than a boat already carrying several battery-powered accessories competing for the same charge.
Does a propeller ship with this engine? Yes, it comes included.
