Details & Inspection Notes
This new 20HP 20ELH EFI FourStroke steps up to a 20 inch, long shaft while keeping tiller steering and an electric starter, weighing 114 lbs with the same two-cylinder EFI powerhead as its short-shaft sibling. Full throttle runs 5400 to 6100 rpm, with a 9.2 inch diameter, 9.1 inch pitch three-blade aluminum propeller fitted.
Longer shaft, same controls
Tiller steering stays the same hand-operated control at the transom rather than a remote console setup; the longer shaft here is the detail that changes versus its short-shaft sibling. Measure your transom before ordering. A longer shaft like this one changes how the motor hangs off the transom slightly compared to the short-shaft version, worth checking against your boat before ordering either one. The same break-in guidance applies regardless of shaft length: ease in gradually rather than running wide open from the start.
What ships with it
Included here: the propeller already mentioned, an owner's handbook, a tool kit, and a fuel setup consisting of a 3.2 gallon tank plus its quick-connect line.
Confirm your transom measurement before ordering, since the longer shaft here will not suit every hull that the short-shaft version fits.
Does it start on electric or by hand? Electric, via a built-in starter.
Warranty on this one? This new outboard carries Mercury's 3-year standard warranty.
