Details & Inspection Notes

This used 200L FourStroke runs the same 200 hp V6 powerhead and 20 inch shaft as its DTS sibling, but on remote mechanical controls, sold separately, rather than a digital throttle setup. Steering can be hydraulic, power, or full joystick piloting. Mercury puts dry weight at 475 lbs, calling it the lightest motor in its class.

Fuel and oil to run it on

Minimum fuel grade is 87 octane unleaded, and Mercury also allows 90 RON fuel carrying up to 10 percent ethanol if that is what is available locally. Pair either with the maker's own NMMA-certified FC-W synthetic oil, switching to a 10W-30 blend once temperatures drop. Oil capacity on this powerhead is 7.0 quarts, worth knowing before your first service interval comes due.

Before you order

No propeller ships with this motor, so plan on sourcing one separately sized to your gearcase and hull. Remote mechanical controls sell apart from the powerhead as well, so confirm compatibility with your existing helm wiring before placing an order. Because this is a used engine, service records matter as much as the spec sheet.

What warranty applies? Mercury's figures show 5 years of combined coverage here: a 3-year standard warranty with two further years added under a separately noted Product Protection Gold plan.

Is it new? No, this unit is sold used, so ask about hours and service history before buying.
