Details & Inspection Notes
This used Mercury 115EXLPT Pro XS pairs the performance-tuned powerhead with a 25-inch shaft and a standard gearcase, built for boats that want the higher Pro XS rev range without the extra low-speed bite of a Command Thrust housing.
Pro XS tuning on the longer shaft
Full throttle here reaches 5300-6300 rpm, an elevated range compared with base FourStroke tuning, on the extra-long shaft meant for a taller transom. The gearcase ratio is 2.38:1, dry weight is 359 pounds, both suited to a lighter, performance-leaning hull rather than a heavily loaded one, with SmartCraft ECM 70 digital inductive ignition handling spark timing.
Steering and specifications
This one supports a Big Tiller setup, dual mechanical steering cables, and hydraulic power assist, so matching your existing control hardware to that list before ordering is worth doing. The engine is an 8-valve, SOHC inline four fed by computer-controlled multi-port EFI, with electric turn-key Smart Start. Phantom Black is the finish, with the propeller sold separately.
Is this the same rev range as the shorter-shaft Pro XS? Yes, full throttle also reaches 5300-6300 rpm here. Does it have Command Thrust? No, this one uses the standard gearcase. Why pick the standard gearcase over Command Thrust? It keeps the Pro XS character intact for a lighter hull that does not need the extra low-speed bite Command Thrust adds.
