Details & Inspection Notes
The Lincoln Maverick is a diesel engine-driven welder/generator built to run two separate welding arcs off one engine, which is what separates it from a single-arc Ranger or Big Blue. Two heavy-duty digital screens handle the controls, so each operator can see their own settings rather than sharing a single display.
Why two arcs matter on a crew
A dual-arc machine lets two welders work at once without running two separate engines, which matters most on pipeline, structural, or maintenance crews where several people are welding in the same area. CrossLinc Technology lets an operator adjust machine output right at the arc, rather than walking back to the engine every time a setting needs to change, which keeps the crew working and the site a little safer with fewer trips across a busy work area.
Checking fit before ordering
Variable engine RPM and automatic start/stop are built in to cut fuel use when the machine is idling between passes, and Lincoln designed the unit to run quietly for jobsites near occupied buildings. Because a dual-arc machine splits capacity between two welders, confirm the amperage each arc needs for the job before ordering, along with the fuel type and tank size for the length of the shift. Lincoln backs the Maverick with a manufacturer's warranty.
Can one welder use the full output alone? A dual-arc machine like this is built around two independent arcs rather than combining their capacity into one. Does CrossLinc need extra cabling? No, it adjusts output at the arc using the existing welding lead.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
