The Lokar XCIND-1716 Midnight Series is a vertical, aluminum LED dash indicator for GM automatic transmission shifters, built to display gear position only while the transmission is engaged in a gear.

What it is for

Lokar CNC-cuts the arm and ball-milled sensor housing from 6061-T6 aluminum billet, then drives the display from a programmable solid-state circuit board inside a separate decoder box. The kit includes a 5-foot length of U-Cut-to-Fit braided stainless steel housing plus 6 feet of inner control wire, mounting hardware in stainless steel and zinc plating, and zinc-plated universal angled mounting brackets. A back-up light circuit and a neutral safety switch are built in, and the wiring is color coded for installation.

What to check before buying

Lokar builds this indicator to work with its own automatic transmission shifters as well as many other aftermarket shifters, covering most GM, Ford, and Chrysler transmissions, so confirm your shifter and transmission are on Lokar's compatibility list before ordering. This is the vertical mount version; a separate sensor kit is sold apart from this unit. A remote kit is also available separately with 7 feet of braided housing, 13 feet of inner control wire, and an adjustable fitting, if your installation needs longer runs.
