Details & Inspection Notes
This reproduction center console replaces the full console assembly, top and bottom sections, on a 1964 Impala SS with automatic transmission and bucket seats, built from new tooling rather than pulled from old factory dies.
What it is for
Each piece is injection molded or die cast from new tooling and pre-assembled so it goes in more easily than a box of loose parts. Trim riding along with the reproduction includes an SS emblem, a shift indicator assembly, a console lamp, the glove box, and the console door with its lock assembly, so those pieces are not separate purchases.
What to check before buying
This console is built for the automatic transmission, bucket seat configuration, so confirm your 1964 car has that layout before ordering; a bench seat or manual-transmission console opening will not match it. It is a reproduction, not an original part, though it installs the same way an original would.
Fitment beyond the Impala
Because several 1964 B-body cars shared the same console opening, this piece can also go into a Biscayne or Bel Air from that year, as long as the car has bucket seats paired with an automatic transmission the way the Impala SS version requires.
Common questions
What does the kit include? An SS emblem, shift indicator assembly, console lamp, glove box, and console door with its lock assembly.
Will it fit a bench-seat car? No, it is built for the bucket seat, automatic transmission layout.
