Details & Inspection Notes
This Hurst crossmember bolts into 1966-1970 B-Body Mopar chassis to support a Tremec TKO transmission swap, replacing the stock crossmember with a piece built specifically for that conversion.
What it is for
Factory crossmembers on these B-Body cars were never engineered around a TKO's mounting points, so Hurst cut this piece to match the TKO's position and keep the driveshaft running at the correct angle to the rear axle. Hurst builds it from precision-cut steel sections that are fully MIG-welded rather than stamped and bolted, which Hurst states gives it more strength than the original crossmember it replaces.
What to check before buying
Confirm your car is a 1966-1970 B-Body Mopar and that you are installing, or already have installed, a Tremec TKO transmission, since this crossmember is sized for that specific swap rather than for the factory transmission. Also confirm your transmission mount and any other drivetrain parts you plan to reuse will line up with Hurst's mounting points before you commit to the swap.
Common questions
Will this fit a factory automatic or manual transmission? It is built for a Tremec TKO swap, not for the original factory transmission.
What finish does it come in? A black powder coated finish.
Is it welded or bolted together? Hurst fully MIG-welds the crossmember from precision-cut sections.
