FTI's part number FTK7R4-2E is a remanufactured 700R4 Level 2 package rated up to 450 horsepower, purpose-built to run behind an Edelbrock carburetor rather than as a general-purpose rebuild.

Clutch and servo upgrades

Third and fourth gear get extra holding power from a 9-clutch high-energy pack, backed by a performance band and an upgraded servo. A hardened sun gear shell, new pump rings, and an oversized boost valve round out the durability upgrades, aimed at handling more load than a factory 700R4 was built for.

Case, shafts, and what ships with it

Inside an aluminum, OEM-style case, thirty splines turn a hardened-steel input shaft that rides ahead of a 7.500-inch tailshaft on a slip-on yoke, geared to a 3.06 first ratio; lockup is supported. FTI fills this package with a 2,400 rpm stall converter already fitted, twelve quarts of fluid, and a dipstick, along with the throttle-valve cable, filler tube, and correction hardware an Edelbrock carburetor setup needs, so very little besides a cooler and wiring is left to source elsewhere.
