This 3.0 Factory Race Series coilover from Fox, part number 883-06-204, combines internal bypass damping with a remote reservoir and sells as a pair for off-road trucks and SUVs. The monotube body runs 3.000 in. in diameter with a silver-anodized aluminum finish, and its dual speed compression (DSC) adjuster lets you set high-speed and low-speed damping on separate dials.
What sets this coilover apart
Internal bypass circuitry tapers the damping force as the shaft moves, so the ride stays composed over small bumps and still controls big hits. A finned external reservoir, linked through a recirculating bridge, adds oil volume and surface area to fight fade on long, rough stretches. Extended length is 23.44 in. and collapsed length is 17.95 in., with a stock upper mount and a bar-pin lower mount.
What to check before ordering
Lift varies by setup: figure on 4 to 4.5 in. once aftermarket upper control arms are fitted on base models, or 3 to 3.5 in. on Sasquatch-package trucks. Coilover springs in black ship pre-installed, mounting hardware is included, and this bolts on without welding, but a crossmember and an adjustable mounting bracket are not part of this particular kit. Confirm your truck matches the listed vehicle fit before buying, since the achievable lift depends on the control arms you pair it with.
Is this shock rebuildable? Yes, the 3.0 Factory Race Series design can be rebuilt and revalved rather than replaced outright.
Do I need new control arms? Aftermarket upper control arms are needed to reach the full lift range described above.
