This 2.5 in. diameter, monotube, gas-charged coilover, part 883-06-187, comes from Fox Racing Shox's Performance Elite Series and is built around a black-anodized 6061 T-6 aluminum body, with an external reservoir carrying Dual Speed Compression adjusters for on-the-fly tuning.
What it is built for
It is designed to work with aftermarket upper control arms on trucks and SUVs, raising ride height up to 3.0 in. while keeping forward rake in check, and separates shock oil from high-pressure nitrogen in the external reservoir to help keep damping consistent under hard use. It ships as a pair, with a coilover spring in gray/silver finish, PTFE-lined spherical bearing bushings, and a 7/8 in. hard chrome-plated, heat-treated steel shaft.
