Details & Inspection Notes
The Edelbrock 7161 Performer RPM 2-0 is a dual-plane, high-rise intake manifold for street 396 through 502 cubic-inch big-block Chevy V8s running large oval-port cylinder heads from 1975 and earlier.
Powerband
Edelbrock rates this manifold for 1,500 to 6,500 rpm street-driven use, built around a 180-degree firing-order runner layout. The larger plenum and runner volume compared with a standard Performer are meant to carry upgraded heads, cam and carburetion gains further up the rpm range while still keeping reasonable throttle response off idle.
Before you order
This casting is sized for large oval-port heads on engines built through 1975; confirm your big-block's cylinder head port shape and your engine's model year fall inside that window before buying, since a later or smaller-port head will not match this manifold's runners correctly.
Who it suits
This is aimed at a big-block owner chasing top-end horsepower from a street-driven combination that already has, or is planned around, upgraded oval-port heads, cam and carburetor, rather than a stock-headed engine looking for a mild torque bump. The cast finish is Edelbrock's standard aluminum casting rather than a polished or coated option.
