Details & Inspection Notes
Edelbrock's 2104 Performer intake is built for 1987-95 small-block Chevy V8s running cast iron cylinder heads with canted center bolt holes, covering 262 through 400 cubic-inch engines in that iron-head generation.
Fitment specifics
This manifold accepts the late-model water neck, air conditioning brackets, alternator mounting and HEI distributor used on these engines, along with the rear water crossover layout and exhaust-heated choke provision this generation of small-block used. It will not fit Chevrolet Bowtie or LT1 cylinder heads, so confirm your heads are the stock-style iron canted-valve castings this application covers before ordering.
Powerband and finish
Edelbrock rates this dual-plane, low-rise design for idle through 5,500 rpm street driving, with a 180-degree firing-order runner layout meant to deliver a broad torque curve rather than a narrow top-end spike. It is street-legal in all 50 states when paired with the correct carburetor, and comes in a cast aluminum finish rather than a polished or EnduraShine option.
Who it suits
This intake fits an owner running a 1987-95 iron-head small-block who wants better throttle response and mid-range power than the factory casting delivers, without changing to aluminum heads or a different firing-order layout. It is not the right part for a Bowtie or LT1-headed engine.
