Details & Inspection Notes

Factory-sealed for equal competition, this "602 crate" is dyno-verified before it leaves the shop, built on a CNC-machined, four-bolt block with a forged-steel crankshaft, 9:1 hypereutectic pistons, and GM iron Vortec cylinder heads. Output is 350 hp at 5,000 rpm with 390 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm, popular across Factory Stock, Sport Modified, and Truck classes.

What is already on the engine

From the intake down to the pan, this package comes complete: a dual-plane, high-rise aluminum intake, an HEI distributor, steel valve covers stamped with the Chevy Bowtie logo and breathers, an 8-inch harmonic balancer, and the front timing cover are all installed, with an 8 1/2-inch-deep oil pan holding 8 quarts including the filter. Shipped weight comes in at 434 lbs.

Installation notes

None of the fuel or ignition hardware rides along in the crate: budget separately for a carburetor, a starter, a water pump, and a fresh set of plugs and wires, plus an externally balanced flywheel to mate it to your transmission. The oil pan is sized to clear most GM rear-steer chassis in the stock engine location. This engine is built for circle track racing only and is not intended for street use; the camshaft and piston rings are broken in on a dyno before shipping, with lash and timing individually tuned at the factory.

Q: Does this include a carburetor? No, fuel and ignition parts are entirely on you to source for this one.

Q: Is this legal for street use? No, it is built and sold for circle track racing only.
