Details & Inspection Notes
A Chevrolet Performance CT350 circle track crate engine, commonly called the "602 crate," factory-sealed and delivered already dyno-verified at 350 horsepower and 390 ft-lbs of torque for weekend circle track racing.
What's inside
Starting from GM's 350 HO platform, this build adds a new block with four main-cap bolts per journal, 9:1-compression hypereutectic pistons, a forged steel crankshaft, and GM iron Vortec cylinder heads, running a 9.1:1 compression ratio under a high-rise dual-plane intake manifold and a deep 8-quart oil pan built with a single kick-out design and roughly 8-1/2 inches of depth for circle track use. Its dual-pattern camshaft traces back to the grind used in 1965-67 Corvette 327 engines, reworked with added lift and duration so exhaust clears quickly and the engine builds mid- and high-range power. Everything between the oil pan and the intake manifold ships assembled, an HEI distributor among the parts bolted on, but a flywheel and a water pump are both left off, and the whole unit tips the scale at 434 lbs as delivered.
What "dyno tested" means here
Camshaft and piston rings are broken in on a dyno program before the engine ships, and lash and timing are individually tuned and factory-sealed, so the engine arrives ready to race rather than needing a break-in period at the track. Classes such as Hobby Stock, Street Stock, Sport Modified, and Truck racing commonly accept this build, though local track rules should still be checked for eligibility before entering.
Common questions
Is a water pump included? No, and neither is a flywheel.
What's the rated output? 350 hp at 5,000 rpm and 390 ft-lbs of torque at 3,800 rpm.
