The COMP Cams CL10-600-5 Thumpr camshaft and lifter kit is ground for the AMC 290-401 V8 family built between 1966 and 1991, measuring 227 degrees on the intake side and 241 on the exhaust side at .050 inch of lift, delivering the choppy, thumping idle the Thumpr line is known for.
Specs that matter
Advertised duration runs 279 degrees intake and 296 degrees exhaust, with 0.491 inch of intake lift and 0.476 inch of exhaust lift on a 107-degree lobe separation angle, using a 1-bolt camshaft gear. COMP rates this as a street/strip grind, happiest somewhere between 2,000 and 5,800 RPM.
Before you order
A stock torque converter will work, but COMP recommends stepping up to a 2,000-plus-stall converter along with upgraded rear gears to make the most of this cam's powerband. This same 227/241 grind is also packaged on its own, without lifters, under the part number K10-600-5; confirm with us which of the two your build actually needs before ordering, since they are not the same part number.
