Details & Inspection Notes

This Street King 4L60E is a dyno-tested, overdrive automatic transmission built on the Chevy LS bellhousing pattern, suited to street driving and mild strip use up to 450 horsepower, with no core transmission required to purchase it.

What has been rebuilt inside

The build includes new friction and steel plates, a new intermediate band, new bushings, a rebuilt front pump for higher line pressure, and a rebuilt valve body with shift improvements and new electronics. A high-performance Corvette-style servo is installed, and the unit uses a 27-spline output shaft, with a new oil filter and a chrome transmission pan fitted with a drain plug for easier fluid changes.

What is not included

A dipstick tube and torque converter are sold separately from the transmission itself, so plan for those along with a flexplate and cooler lines if your project needs them. The transmission supports a factory PCM or an aftermarket stand-alone controller, and runs on Dexron 3 or Dexron 6 fluid, with a friction modifier needed if Dexron 6 is used.

Q: Does this come with a warranty? Yes, a one-year manufacturer's warranty against defects covers it, though improper installation, cooling, or use is excluded, and the required Dexron VI fluid must be used to keep that coverage valid.

Q: Is a cooler required? The listing calls for cooler lines to be flushed and a correctly adjusted TV cable as part of a proper installation, so plan your cooling setup before putting the transmission into service.

Startup & Installation Checklist

  • Inspect all external gaskets, seals, spark plugs and timing components prior to installation.
  • Refill engine oil, transmission gear oil and coolant to manufacturer-specified capacities before initial cranking.
  • Prime the lubrication system and verify ECU wiring pinouts, sensors, and ground connections.
  • Our 2-year warranty covers internal lubricated components, cylinder heads and engine block from delivery, in addition to your statutory rights.
