Details & Inspection Notes

This Bowler Performance Tru-Street unit is a remanufactured 4R70W automatic matched to a 1,800-2,000 rpm converter and built on Ford's bolt pattern for small block Ford engines, sold as a complete rebuilt transmission rather than new or used.

What is inside

Steel construction carries through the stock-style pan, finished gray, with a 10.500-inch tailshaft, slip-on yoke, and a 31-spline steel input shaft turning a 2.84 first gear. A converter ships with it, while flexplate, controller, harness, and cooler do not, so budget for whichever of those your project still needs. A transmission shield is built in, though fluid and a dipstick are not supplied.

Fitment and install notes

Since this is a 4R70W sized for Ford small block engines, check that your chassis and engine match that bolt pattern and shift setup before ordering, because it is not a universal fit across other Ford families. Because the case and internals have already been rebuilt, there is no separate break-in rebuild to plan for before putting it into service.

Q: Is this a new unit? No, it is listed remanufactured, meaning the case and internals were rebuilt rather than supplied fresh off a factory line.

Q: Does the converter bolt straight on? Yes, the stated 1,800-2,000 rpm converter ships ready to install, though cooler and harness are left for the builder to add.
