Details & Inspection Notes

B&M's 80843 Pro Ratchet shifter is a positive-ratcheting race shifter with a reverse lockout built to meet NHRA and IHRA safety rules, intended for 3 and 4 speed automatic transmissions. A neutral safety switch and a backup light switch are both built in, and the 5ft Super-Duty shifter cable, mounting brackets, hardware and installation instructions all come with it.

Look and feel

The shift lever gets a simulated carbon-fiber-wrapped cover, while the aluminum cover itself is hydro-dipped for a similar high-tech look at a lower cost than an actual carbon fiber piece. A white shift knob carrying a B&M logo medallion tops it off.

Transmission fitment

On the GM side, this shifter is built for the TH400, 350, 250, 200, 700R4, 2004R, 4L60E and 4L65E. Ford applications include the C4, C6 and AOD, and Chrysler applications cover 1966-and-later Torqueflite A727 and A904 units. Some transmissions may call for an optional installation kit beyond what ships in the box, so check your specific transmission against that list before ordering.
