Skip the automatic and row your own gears: this Mustang-badged combo pairs the same 415-horsepower, fuel-injected small-block with a five-speed manual gearbox, finished in black rather than the polished option BluePrint also offers on this same drivetrain.

Clutch and gearbox

McLeod supplies the clutch, a Super Street Pro single-disc unit riding a hydraulic throwout bearing, bolted into an aluminum bellhousing with a billet flywheel and its own starter. Five forward gears run from 2.87:1 down to a 0.81:1 overdrive, a very different driveline than the torque-converter-and-flexplate setup BluePrint's automatic combos rely on.

Engine side

Forged pistons and 5.400-inch forged I-beam rods ride a cast steel crank, stroking 3.400 inches, the same short block BluePrint uses on its automatic Mustang combo, under HP9009 aluminum heads at 10.0:1 compression. A complete fuel injection system, pump kit included, feeds a dual-plane intake through a Pro Billet distributor, under Mustang-scripted valve covers and a 7-quart oil pan. Black billet pieces finish the front accessory mounts. This powertrain is sold for Ford vehicles from the 1968-2001 range and isn't engineered around EGR compatibility.
