Details & Inspection Notes
This package solves two shopping problems at once for a Bronco build: a carbureted Ford small-block making 365 horsepower and 365 pound-feet, matched from the factory to a 4R70W automatic already set up to bolt to a 1966-76 Dana 20 transfer case, though the transfer case itself isn't part of the box.
Engine side
BluePrint's HP9009 aluminum heads cap a 10.0:1-compression short block built around a 3.000-inch stroke, forged 5.090-inch connecting rods, and hypereutectic pistons, with a hydraulic roller cam running the valves. A 600-cfm carburetor handles fuel delivery, bolted to a dual-plane intake and sparked through an installed distributor. Front-end finish is black billet, covering the compressor and steering-pump mounts.
Transmission side
Rated for up to 650 horsepower, the automatic transmission arrives ready to run: its own electronic controller is wired in, a torque converter is matched for the right stall speed, and the flexplate and starter are both fitted. Because swapping in an overdrive automatic changes more than just the bellhousing, BluePrint flags that the driveshaft, the transmission mount, or the exhaust routing may all need rework to clear it. BluePrint sells this pairing for Ford vehicles built between 1968 and 2001, suggests 91-octane fuel with non-synthetic 10W30 oil through the break-in period, and does not engineer it around EGR compatibility.
Does the Dana 20 transfer case come with it? No; the transmission is prepped to accept one, but the transfer case itself is a separate purchase.
