Details & Inspection Notes

AMD's 800-3469 replaces the entire trunk pan in a single piece on a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle, Malibu, Chevelle SS or Malibu SS, built on AMD's own tooling from OE-gauge steel and finished in a black EDP coating ahead of paint. A jack bracket, a rear pan support and the trunk braces all arrive already mounted to the pan, so none of those pieces need to be sourced or fitted on their own.

Full coverage, not a patch

Rather than a partial section, this pan replaces the trunk floor in full, and AMD reproduces the factory shape in detail, down to the original bend points, the drain holes, the mounting locations and the contour lines and ribs, so the finished floor matches factory geometry. That suits a trunk where rust or prior repairs have spread across most of the pan rather than one isolated spot.

Rest of the rear body

For the surrounding sheet metal, AMD sells a tail panel, quarter panels, rear frame crossmembers and matching drop-off extensions as separate items. If your trunk floor has failed, it is worth checking those surrounding panels for similar corrosion before you close the job out.

Common questions

Do I need to buy the braces and jack bracket separately? No, they are already installed on this pan.

Does this fit the SS trims? Yes, fitment for this part includes the 1969 Chevelle SS and Malibu SS along with the standard models.

Performance Installation & Verification Checklist

  • Disconnect vehicle battery ground terminal before installing any electrical, sensor, or powertrain hardware.
  • Inspect all vacuum lines, fuel lines, and wiring harness connectors for secure, leak-free engagement.
  • Calibrate electronic sensors, boost control solenoids, and ECU maps according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform initial datalogging check under light load before subjecting vehicle to wide-open throttle.
